Beeville Independent School District

Mission Statement

“Beeville ISD is committed to providing a positive school climate where all students can successfully reach their maximum potential. All students will have the opportunity to read, write, compute, problem solve, think critically, apply technology and communicate across all subject areas. Realizing that all children can learn and become good citizens, the teachers, administration and support personnel of the Beeville Independent School District, in cooperation with parents and the community, will focus their resources on providing a quality classroom learning experience.”

Bee County is divided into four independent school districts. Beeville ISD, the largest of the four, encompasses the majority of the county. Beeville ISD covers 342 square miles and consists of one primary, three elementary schools, one middle school, one high school and one learning resource center. The teacher-to-student ratio in Beeville is 20-1. The district maintains an open enrollment policy for elementary schools, which allows parents a choice of campus for student’s grade 1-5. The district has a competitive athletic program that offers football, basketball, softball, volleyball, track, cross-county, golf, tennis and wrestling.

Pawnee Independent School District

Pettus Independent School District

Mission Statement

“The mission of the Pettus Independent School District is to assure that all students acquire knowledge and develop the skills and work habits to enable them to become productive members of society.”

Pettus Independent School District is a 1A district located in both Bee and Karnes Counties. PISD is comprised of approximately 186 square miles and encompasses the communities of Pettus, Tuleta, Choate, Normanna, Mineral and Tulsita. Campuses are located in the community of Pettus, Texas. The campuses are maintained to reflect a pastoral setting with majestic live oak trees on gently rolling terrain. High school campus buildings are constructed of locally quarried Tuleta Rock which adds to the tranquil setting. The school is a focal point for social activity in the community. District schools kindergarten through grade 12 are fully accredited by the Texas Education Agency. PISD students are offered a quality academic as well as a complete extra-curricular program. Pettus schools offer students a variety of programs spanning a wide range of student needs and interests. Programs and activities include full-day kindergarten, gifted and talented program, child nutrition program, 24/25 credit high school graduation program, National Honor Society, Agriculture, Business Education, Computer Technology, Title I supplemental services and ESL instruction as well as athletics and band programs. Our “small school” environment enhances student academic success at Pettus schools.

Skidmore-Tynan Independent School District

The Skidmore-Tynan Independent School District is an outstanding educational system offering first-class instructional programs in a family friendly environment. In fact, Skidmore-Tynan ISD is a state of Texas “Exemplary” school district because of outstanding student performance, low dropout rates and strong attendance rates. STISD is home to a Nationally Recognized No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon Elementary Campus. It is a place where your children will be successful.

STISD’s goal is to reach all students at their respective levels and in their respective interests, while teaching them individually and in ways they best learn. They pride themselves in strong academic and extracurricular programs that include athletics, agricultural education, UIL, classes for the gifted and talented, and career and technology courses.
